The 20th High School of Patras was founded
in 1986 and it used to share premises with the 44th
Primary School of Patras until 1998. Since 1998-99 we moved to our
new promises and we have been operating on a morning shift.
Since the school year 1999-2000 our school is taking
part in a) the program “Odysseas”
which is meant to train teachers throughout Greece on using
computers for their teaching and b) the program “Epidaurus”
which caters for the creation of school libraries and which has
started getting organised in our school since January, 2000.
Our School has got a capacity of about 130 students
divided in 7 classes. Most of the students come from Perivola on
the outskirts of Patras, where the school is situated. There are
also students coming from Neo Souli , a village on the foot of Mt
Panahaiko.
The number of Teachers working here is about 22 on a permanent basis as
well as on a temporary basis, coming from all faculties. At times,
in cooperation with their teachers, the students have worked on
different activities and projects which enrich the culture of the
area and the school as well, such as theatrical performances or
environmental programs. |
